DOUGLAS PARK WILTON FC

The Story of Douglas Park Wilton FC

The Beginning: A Vision for Douglas Park

The journey of Douglas Park Wilton Football Club (DPWFC) began in August 1999 when a group of local men, who played for Camden Falcons All-Age Men’s team, dreamed of forming their own club. After playing in a Ron Dine final, Brett Wallin proposed the idea of establishing a football club in Douglas Park.

Brett, a lifelong local, understood the community's potential and reached out to Warwick Mitchell at Macarthur SFCA to learn what was needed to start a club. With guidance and determination, Brett and his teammates became the first committee members of the Douglas Park Football Club.

From Idea to Action

To gauge community interest, Brett attended the local school’s Country Fair and recruited enough players to form several youth teams. The efforts of the original committee saw the club grow from nothing to seven teams in its inaugural season—a remarkable achievement.

Building the Identity

The club’s name, Douglas Park Razorbacks, was reflected in the logo: a razorback pig with a soccer ball. The first uniforms were orange polyester shirts with white collars, plain white shorts, and socks. Initially, red and white were considered for the uniform, but orange was chosen to avoid conflicts with another club’s colours.

Brad Corp’s generous $1,700 donation provided the essential equipment needed to launch the club.

Key Milestones
  • 2000: The club fielded its first teams, marking the start of its journey.

  • 2002: The club became incorporated as the Douglas Park Soccer Football Club Inc., securing its future and adopting an official constitution. Approval was also granted for a light pole and lights at the oval, laying the foundation for nighttime training.

  • 2003: Lighting was installed at the oval, celebrated with an official 'Turning on the Lights' ceremony attended by representatives from BHP Billiton, Wollondilly Shire Council, and the club.

  • 2007: Player shirts were redesigned with a fully sublimated style, featuring numbers and the club logo.

  • 2008: The club was renamed 'Douglas Park Wilton FC' to better represent its growing player base.

Celebrating 25 Years

The 2025 season marks an exciting milestone as we celebrate 25 years of football, sportsmanship, and community spirit. From humble beginnings to a thriving club, we’re proud of our legacy and look forward to another fantastic season.

Macarthur Skills Acquisition Program (MSAP)

DPWFC is proud to enter its second season in the Macarthur Skills Acquisition Program (MSAP), fielding three teams in the U9, U10, and U11 age groups. This program provides a pathway to further develop our young players and inspire the next generation of Matildas and Socceroos.

With continued success, we aim to expand the program to include additional age groups, giving more young superstars a chance to shine.

New Jerseys for the Season

After valuable feedback from players, coaches, and parents, our committee worked hard during the off-season to design and deliver new jerseys for the 2025 season. Made possible by our generous sponsors, these jerseys reflect our club's pride and passion. We hope you love the fresh new look!

Together, let’s make the 2025 season a memorable chapter in our club’s history. Go Razorbacks!
