U6 Orange

This week U6 Orange took on Camden Falcons at our home ground for another fun-filled match. Each week we notice a new skill developing and this week it was their awareness of the players around them to know when to pass.

This week our player of the match went to Ty for his controlled passes and our McDonalds award went to Jeshua who always plays with so much respect.

This week we had an extra award to hand out in celebration of Females in Football. The award went to Mason for his amazing ball control while on the run. Thanks to BJS Landscapes Pty Ltd for sponsoring this award. The sausage sizzle and baseball caps were a hit!

U6 Black

U6 Black had another great week!

Braxton and Harrison kicked some great goals this week. Dion is too switched on and decided the only way to stop the other team from scoring was to be goalie even though we aren’t allowed one!

This weeks awards player of the match went to Harrison for never giving up and always giving it his all and Harrison took him the special BJS award and loved every minute of it

U7 White

This week Douglas Park U7 White took on Ingleburn Eagles, In very cold and trying conditions.

Ingleburn Eagles took an early lead, this did not stop out little Doug'o from giving it they all and had a couple of close chances on goals but only just missed. In the end Ingleburn keep a clean sheet and took the win.

Last week player of the match Ava played even better than last week and gave it her all and ended up being the player of the match for the second time in a row.

Jack and Alaskah took out the celebration of females in football awards, for both putting in an amazing effort and showed great skill in the amazing art of football. Thanks to BJ's landscaping for sponsoring this award, the kids loved they Sausage sandwich and baseball cap's.

Also thanks to all that made it for the early arrival for team photos ( all the kids were a nice shade of blue) and those who help set-up. Bard you looked amazing in the new blue vest.

U7 Orange

It was a cold start to the day for team photos, then with a belly full of hot chocolate the boys got to play together for an hour before we started our warm up.

We vs Narellan today and continued to spread out, pass and move the ball around the field a lot better this week. At half time the score was 0-0.

It was a nice game to watch this week with both teams being pretty evenly matched with some nail biting moments including a very interesting goal save 🤣

At the end of the match we went down 1-0. The boys put on a great show and all the parents behaved on the side line. A big thanks to Matt for stepping in as our Game Leader today and Leah for our half time snacks!

One thing we notice each week with our team, no matter the score, our great team spirit is always evident. Hayden once again checking on his injured team mate and Blake checking on the opposing team after a tackle. They are always straight up to shake hands at the end of the match and say “good game”. This always puts a smile on our faces and makes us all proud!

This weeks awards went to:

POM - Reef for great listening on the field and at training.

Emmett - for another great effort.

This game was always going to be a tough match as Oran Park are the only team so far to get a win against us, and our boys have come a long way as a team since that very first game of the season.

It was tight the first 15 minutes as both teams had some good chances until we were able to break the deadlock just before half time with a full field length team goal, one of our best this year.

Christopher won the ball deep in our half, played it wide to his brother Dimitri (they have a knack for finding each other those two!) who made a great run up the left side. He then turned it back inside to Logan who was supporting in the centre and he had a clean break towards goal. Logan hit a great shot, while on the run and under pressure being chased down, which beat the keeper but not the post. Lucas D. then followed up and finished off the rebound to make it 1-0.

The second half again was evenly matched with Oran Park levelling up the score. With only seconds left, it looked for all money that the game would end in a draw, but a solo effort from one of the Oran Park boys got himself in behind our defence. Logan chased back brilliantly and blocked the shot, but the ball ended up back on their feet. Poor Harry had reacted to the first shot and dove right, then valiantly tried to dive back the other way for the save but the second shot snuck past him for Oran Park to take the win 2-1 on the stroke of full time.

Although they bested us once again, it was a great game by the boys going right down to the wire against a very good side.

Our player of the week was Lucas J. We talked at training about getting hungry for the ball and getting himself more involved with the game and that's exactly what he did, having his best game of the year so far. Well done Lucas!

This tough game was all about effort, so a special mention goes to Jacob who seemed to be everywhere on the field.

Great job boys. I'm confident we'll get them on the third try later in the season if we keep up the passing and team work.

U9 Orange

Another convincing win for U9 Orange and another game where it’s hard to choose the Player of the match! The game ended 6-0 (But somehow I thought it was more🤔)

The boys had a bye last week which didn’t seem to do them any favours. The team had a sluggish start which gave Oran Park an early chance, which if it wasn’t for a solid save from GK Parker, it could’ve given them an early goal. But after a few minutes the boys got back into sync and started playing some decent football. Overall it was a sound performance from the team, but there is still room for improvement.

This week we gave away three awards to deserving performances. The BJ Landscapes awards went to Parker for his save as GK and a solid effort on the field in the 2nd half and Frank for several great passes and good listening about positioning.

The POW trophy went to Jack W for continuous hustle in the middle of the field and a great top corner finish.

I would to give a big thank you to BJ Landscapes for sponsoring ‘females in football round’ as well as their sponsorship of the club. It’s much appreciated!

U9 Blue

What another fantastic day for playing soccer. The Under 9 Blues came up against Eschol Park today and it was a very even and challenging game. The team worked tirelessly to open up the field and create opportunities by calling for the ball and passing to each other.

Some of our players braved trying playing in a different position and didn't disaapoint. We came away with a 2-1 win!

I am so proud of how resilient and adaptable our team is every week

A huge thanks to BJS Landscaping for celebrating females in football. The recipient of one of the vouchers went to Ruby who shows true grit and determination every time she defends the ball. Keep up the great work Ruby!

Our Player of the week (who also recieved a canteen voucher) went to Owen for displaying great defending skills and resilience.

Our defense is the wall that stops the ball

U9 White

Well played today boys! As with every week you improve and play better than the last. The training nights in freezing cold weather are working well.

We had some first goals of the seasons today for some of our team mates. There was some awesome set ups for the goals and fantastic

Passing.

Our boys sportsmanship is always great and it was nice to see one of our players stop to check on someone when they accidentally knocked them down.

Keep up the great work boys. We are on fire at the moment.

Our players of the week were Logan D and Will. Two photos because they each had the eyes closed on one

Females in Football Round but an away game for us so we headed to Mount Annan post our Photo’s.

This was our second match vs Mount Annan after a 2nd round 7-0 victory.

The team started strongly and never let Mount Annan into the contest. In short Brax turned into MC’s Erling Haaland and the team followed suit.

Importantly for us our focus, passing, defence and finishing was excellent. Whilst we dominate possession and run away with the game it was a great sight to observe every player doing their part.

In particularly the defence line who were the unsung hero’s. They may not have scored any goals by their contribution was simply clinical.

A special shout out to Mount Annan. They showed execellent sportsmanship and never gave up on the contest. We wish them well for remainder of the season.

14-0 to Dougo with Brax 6, Zach 4, Louis 2, Archer and Cody 1 goal each.

Thanks to those who assisted with the ground setup with Mount Annan short on volunteers.

Coach Chris’ Player of the Match was Jack Johnson, a great performance working the ball up the sidelines and connecting through the middle, a classic midfield performance!

Manager’s shout out to Luke who continues to impress each game and build his confidence in both defence and attack.

Last but not least a special shout out to the Johnson family, they are the heart and soul of this club with their behind the scenes and frontline efforts. It was great to see them all together as a family enjoying the sun and soccer.
